Determining the value of a banking institution is a key part of the decision making process in a wide variety of areas including capital raising, strategic planning and exit strategies.
Since 1978, our team has prepared hundreds of bank valuations and this service is one of the company’s core strengths. Many of these valuations are done at year-end but others are done for a wide variety of other reasons:
- Year-end valuations – Usually done to benchmark performance or to meet reporting requirements for IRA administrators.
- Other valuations – Usually done to determine the offering price in a capital raise, a strike price for issuing options, the value of warrants to exit TARP, the stock price in a DRIP, the pricing of debt issued or benchmarking progress.
One of the more common valuations in today’s difficult banking environment is the pricing of stock in private placement.
