John Walker, Ph.D., CFA ---Associate Professor of Finance at Kutztown University and Acting Director of Research to AFG

John Walker graduated from Lehigh University with a Ph.D. in Business and Economics. While a Ph.D. candidate, John taught and did research in the area of finance and economics. In 1997, he and his co-author, Geraldo M. Vasconcellos, published a monograph entitled, “Financial-Agency Analysis of Privatization.”

John has worked in the banking industry since 1994. He has written and co-authored numerous papers and articles on issues relevant to community bankers, such as capital management and building shareholder value. John serves on the editorial board of Sheshunoff’s “Banker’s Economic and Investment Alert.”

John is recognized as a speaker for national organizations, such as the Financial Managers Society, and state associations, such as the Pennsylvania Association of Community Bankers and Independent Bankers Association of New York State. He is a former member of Toastmasters International.

John earned his chartered financial analyst (CFA) designation and is currently a member of CFA Institute and The CFA Society of Philadelphia.

In addition to serving as Director of Research with Ambassador Financial Group, Dr. Walker is an associate professor of finance at Kutztown University. He teaches courses on investments, portfolio management, multinational financial management, and financial markets and institutions.
